He Stood In The Middle Of The Road But A Wolf Walked Up Right Behind Him

It’s always amazing to witness chance sightings of rare animals! The video below was taken by a man who frequently encounters a wide array of wild animals while driving past the Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada, writes ilovemydogsomuch.tv

While his usual sightings include cute porcupines and moose, he was in for a sudden delight when he met a pack of clever coywolves!

Unlike what the name suggests, coywolves are not “shy wolves” at all. Their name is derived from their origin as coyote-wolf hybrids (their ancestors are coyotes, eastern wolves and gray wolves)! This video beautifully captures the behavioral and social dynamics of coywolves and how they operate as a pack!

The gray alpha coywolf stands out in this clip, as he responsibly stands guard on the road and helps his pack make it to the other side. He positions himself boldly in the middle of the road and orders the man to stop while his pack mates (who are all fluffy beige-colored younglings) make the crossing!

Once the pack has safely crossed the road, the alpha coywolf gestures the man to move ahead before joining the rest. The man is totally flabbergasted at this bewildering encounter, but his over-excited Poodle-Border Collie dog, Sam, is left aching for more.
