Dog Became Best Friends With 93-Year-Old Woman, But Then One Day She Was Gone

When the Mazzarella family moved into a neighborhood in Mt. Vernon, Washington, they were thrilled to be a part of the tight-knit community. However, it was their St. Bernard puppy named Brody who found a true soulmate in an elderly woman living next door, writes ilovemydogsomuch

When Brody first spotted his neighbor, a lonely 93-year-old woman named Sally, he immediately sensed a kindred spirit in her. Sally had been living all by herself ever since her husband passed away in 1990, and Brody intuitively knew that she needed a companion.

Brody would first greet Sally during his walks, and then he began crossing the yard to drop by her front door voluntarily. Sally would feed him bread and play with him for hours. They even began tending to plants together! Over the next 2 years, visiting Sally became a daily ritual for Brody and the duo loved every second of it.

Sadly, it became tougher for Sally to live alone as she grew older. After suffering a mild heart attack, the 95-year-old decided to give up her home and move to an assisted living facility for seniors. With Sally gone, Brody was struggling to cope with the absence of his dearest friend. He would lurk by Sally’s empty yard and wait by her closed door for hours with a sulky face.
