A group of college students from Notre Dame in South Euclid, Ohio was out and about when they noticed something very strange near College Road. They saw a small, pink, underweight dog who was covered from head to toe in pink paint, writes ilovemydogsomuch
According to the South Euclid Police Department, the pooch appeared to be “very malnourished” and was taken in by officers who then fed him.
Several attempts were made to remove the pink paint, and officers took to Facebook asking for help from the general public. They wanted to hold the person or persons responsible for doing this an innocent animal and hopefully reunite him with his rightful owner. They did note, however, “Provided of course the original owner isn’t the person(s) who painted and malnourished the dog.”
Within 24 hours, the mystery of the thin pink dog was solved, as police were able to reunite the pup with his owner. The woman told police the pink coloring is a natural vegan dye and the dog is actually of a smaller build and not malnourished. Somehow he ran away from his home but the college students saw him and got the police involved.
Not everyone is happy about the pink vegan dye, as one Facebook poster responded, “So glad the dog is reunited. But I still don’t like the dye, vegan or not.” We are glad the dog is reunited and remind our readers to always keep an eye out for dogs who may be lost or stolen and need someone to help them find their way home.
